Find out where we work:

20–30% of all offenders have learning disabilities or difficulties that interfere with their ability to cope with the criminal justice system
If you are an ex-offender
and would like to receive extra support upon your release, CFEO can connect you with a local church and a mentor. The team will assist you in finding accommodation and employment, as well as offer help with addictions, debt advice, and other practical matters.
If you would like to be supported by Caring for Ex-offenders, fill in one of our referral forms.
If you are a church member
and would like to be involved with the work of CFEO, we can help your church better welcome and care for any ex-offenders in the congregation or local area. Our dedicated team can help answer your questions and offer ongoing advice as you lend a helping hand and facilitate assistance.
If you would like to be involved in supporting an ex-offenders through your church you can register as a Caring for Ex-Offenders church, or simply request more information from the Caring for Ex-Offenders team.
You can also attend training. Here you can find out more about this ministry, meet others who are involved, get to know the churches who are already supporting ex-offenders, discern if this is something you could do or refer people to, and learn or share practical skills involved in working with people who have been in prison. People with a variety of experience and different interests in Caring for Ex-Offenders are welcome to come to a training session to find out more information.
Also, if you would like to keep up to date with the work of Caring for Ex-Offenders, sign up for our newsletter.
If you are a prison chaplain or resettlement officer
and know an inmate who would benefit from some directed support or assistance in any of the National Offender Management Service Pathways on release, CFEO can assist you. CFEO will also arrange for a mentor to meet the individual from the prison. We conduct risk assessments, can contact a trained local mentor to help them reintegrate into the community, and aim to reduce reoffending through this one-on-one help. We can keep you informed of the ongoing relationship and the progress of the ex-offender's journey.
The best way for you to be involved is to promote the work of Caring for Ex-offenders. Talk in prisons about the possibility for extra support on release.
You can then refer them to Caring for Ex-Offenders by encouraging them to complete the contact form, and completing a risk assessment for the individual.
You too can keep up to date with our work, so drop us a line to request receipt of our newsletter.
If you are another organisation with similar goals
we would love to work with you. CFEO aims to reduce reoffending, and in an effort to do this most effectively, we work closely with probation, police authorities, prison services and other charitable and statutory groups also working towards this goal. If you think an indivudal with whom you are currently working could benefit from the additional support of Caring for Ex-Offenders, we can offer our resources to assist with reintegration.
