CFEO fundraisers take to the seas

A group of 12 volunteers, headed by our Global Manager, Nici Johnson, are embarking on an ambitious voyage to raise funds for CFEO.

At 5am on Saturday 25th June they will set sail on the 2011 Round the Island Race, competing against 1900 yachts, to race around the Isle of Wight. With a team of varying abilities and the Great British weather to contend with, it will definitely be a challenge!

The team are hoping to raise £20,000 to support the work of Caring for Ex-Offenders, to train more volunteers and support more ex-offenders to break away from crime and start to make a positive contribution to our communities. It costs the state £48,000 to keep an adult in prison for a year. CFEO estimates that it costs around £2,500 per year to help a man or women to stay committed to their decision to turn away from crime when they are released.

The team still need to raise over £11,000 and your help is needed to reach the target amount and help the valuable work of CFEO to continue and grow. Please go to JustGiving to donate and to wish our budding yachtsmen bon voyage. Thank you in advance for your support; any donation will make such a difference to the lives of ex-offenders, their families and the wider community.
