CFEO COACH Training in Peterborough

On Saturday 5th November, Bretton Baptist Church hosted the second of CFEO’s Training Days focused on equipping those who will be involved in mentoring ex-offenders within the church using the COACH programme, approved by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation.

27 people attended representing 11 different churches and again, the team were excited to see new faces joining those who had come to previous events to further this area of ministry. We were also delighted to have both Hope into Action’s, Ed Walker, and HMP Peterborough’s chaplain, Andy Lanning share something of their experience and vision for this work in the region.

Groups looked at the different qualities required of a coach and discussed the journey of mentoring someone; how that might change over time and the role of set boundaries and expectations. It was greatly encouraging to hear of the heart for prisoners and ex-offenders that God has given to so many people in and around Peterborough.
